IRIS M. WEISMAN is a research and teaching associate with ACCLAIM at North Carolina State University in Raleigh and the former director of curriculum services for Pima Community College in Tucson. GEORGE B. VAUGHAN is a professor of higher education at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Prior to becoming a professor, he served as a community college president for seventeen years.
