MARYELLEN WEIMER is director of instructional development at the Pennsylvania State University. Weimer's scholarly interests focus on college teaching and the process of improving it. She is the editor of an issue of the New Directions for Teaching and Learning series entitled Teaching Large Courses Well (Jossey-Bass, 1987) and coauthor of How Am I Teaching? Forms and Activities for Acquiring Instructional Input (with M. Kerns and J. Parrett, 1988).
