While much is written about adult learning, basic tenets of cognitive theory are ften taken for granted. The purpose of this volume is to present an understanding of basic cognitive theory and to apply this understanding to the teaching-learning exchange. It is the premise of this volume that understanding adults' cognitive learning strategies is essential to facilitating successful learning.
